As leader of the James Way Band for the last 14 years, Greg Padgett likes to keep it Country!….and Gospel!…and a little Classic Rock too!  Both he and Jack Hardy, always singing next to him on stage, are original James Way Band members.  And, they are “PK’s”….Preacher’s Kids….raised in a Pastor’s home till they left the house.  They’ve brought with them to the Clark Center stage an authentic heart, and real love for Classic Country music that sounds about as good as it gets.
You’ll also hear, in every Concert, the real roots of Gospel as well.  They take pride in keeping alive the great songs of the 20th Century Church like The Old Rugged Cross, When We All Get to Heaven, Mansion Over the Hilltop, Sweet Hour of Prayer, ’Tis So Sweet to Trust in Jesus, I Saw the Light, Will the Circle Be Unbroken and many many more that you can sing right along with.  They put the words of the songs up on the screen ‘cause it’s been a while for some of us since we sang those songs, but it sure brings back a lot of great memories.
Kelly Powers has been with us for over 10 years now, playing lead and acoustic guitar, fiddle, the occasional banjo and accordion and sings back-up harmonies along with his great solo numbers.  His wife Valerie Powers joins us from time to time as well, backing Kelly up, or singing her own solos.
Lisa Cooper joined us about the same time as Kelly, and the last 10 years has graced our stage with rock solid Linda Ronstadt tunes, along with Dolly and Loretta, Tammy, and Patsy too.  A great ear for harmonies as well, her strong alto voice brings it all together for that

memorable sound of the James Way Band.
Rounding out the band on piano is Sean Landers, whose talents also include a

solid bass guitar from time to time, and crooning vocals divine.

Tim Pope blows the harmonica with a professional sass that’s a delight to listen to.  He throws some blues and rock into that instrument as his musical accents make the most of our

Country, Gospel and Rock tunes all night.
Last but not least, is our newest James Way Band member, Art Dougall.  A life-long Central Coast guy, Art makes the Country sound Country, the Gospel soar, and the Rock really rock with his

persuasive percussion.
